The Bell Stoke Mandeville Bucks

The Bell is a family owned country feel pub in the heart of Stoke Mandeville.

A good beer garden for those sunny days and a great selection of drinks to boot.

As well as a stylish and welcoming atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff, it’s a great place to pop into for a cheeky vino or meal with the family. it is just a really place to visit which is accessible to all.

A good sized menu with locally sourced produce and a great array from light bites to full A La Carte dishes to chose from.

As it was a lunch we just decided on a main each, although everything that came out from the kitchen looked and smelt delicious.

I went for the veggie Keralan Curry which was deep in flavour and rich in spice. To be honest I could have just had a bowl of the curry without the rice, but it was delicious all the same. So much so I actually made it at home as a soup the following week.

The Hubby went for his old favourite Fish and Chips, the batter was lovely and crispy and the cod was beautifully flakey.

Wheelchair Access – 4 out of 5

With 2 disabled bays in the tarmac car park, there is easy access to the patio and beer garden also into the pub.

The flooring is stone and wood flooring and very accessible, the bar area is fully accessible but there is a step into the main restaurant if you wish to eat in there.

The tables have extensions so are easy to get under in a wheelchair.

There is a disabled bathroom, but this could do with some TLC and bars around the toilet to assist transfers.

But overall especially if you are in the hospital it is a short drive or approx20 minute push from the spinal unit doors.

Pooches Allowed? – Yes in garden and bar area

Final Thoughts

A great pub with good grub, it’s easily accessible and somewhere to pop into when visiting the Hospital.

Much Love
