A year older, a year wiser. So the saying goes!

Having just celebrated another year this week (5th August), I think about how I look at life.

Each of us is totally different, some of us run and hide from birthdays, dreading another year going by, others just see it as a number. I like to see it as another year experiencing, learning and growing in this wonderful thing called life.

We are here for a short moment, a blink of the eye, so why should we not celebrate the moment we were born!! Or in my case make it an excuse to celebrate the entire month (no judgement!).

Each year is like a chapter of a book, a book we are writing, with our own personal story. I want to make each chapter exciting, filled with ups and of course downs and lit up with love and adventure. A story that I would be proud to tell.

I look back on the year gone by, I learn from where I went wrong and also from where I went right! I grow from what I have learnt and what that year and passed years have taught me. Granted some of the years teachings might take longer to grasp than others and some I’m still struggling with now, but I know it is all here to put me on the right path.

Each year is a new opportunity to find out more about who I really am and work on myself to follow my true life path, so I can continuously upgrade myself to the best version of myself I can be.

This does not mean I’m deluded and live in a bubble wearing rose tinted glasses, it means I try to see the best out of each situation good or bad. I take each challenge as a learning experience and a way to expand myself to grow into the person I truly want to be.

The sadness, hurt and challenges of life are here to ground and humble me. Yes sometimes it’s hard and there will be times that these struggles really kick me down, but they are here to help me grow, to teach me my strength, to conquer any situation.

The happiness and laughter, is here to light me up with love and fill me with the knowing that I am enough. I deserve to be here and walk my true path, through creating a beautiful life, filled with loving and happy relationships, wonderful and lasting memories, a life worthy of many chapters that tell my story.

I am blessed to be here, surrounded by amazing people, who only support me to grow and be the best I can be. I’m excited for this next year, this next chapter and all the years that are yet to come.

I choose to see each year as a blessing, whatever comes my way. I know I am strong enough to take each moment as a teaching, helping me to grow into and embrace my true life’s purpose, celebrating who I am and this beautiful life I have been blessed with.
