Bank Holiday in Bournemouth

Bournemouth an English city by the sea. With its 7mile promenade filled with restaurants, arcades and fun for all the family, as well as it’s city centre it’s a great, but hilly place to venture too.

There are numerous hotels to stay in and all within walking distance of the beach front. We stayed at The Hampton by Hilton which was central to everything.

Listen to live music in the town centre, while kicking back in a deck chair.

Take a stroll through the lower park and stop for an ice cream or picnic.

The kids can play in the arcades, play on the rides or jump on the Ferris wheel , there is so much for them to do they won’t get bored

Rent a beach hut down on the promenade and spend the day by the sea shore.

Enjoy an apparel spritz by the seaside, while taking in the view.

We had googled a couple of places to stuff our faces, but when we came across Arbor it was must try. With its ethically and locally sourced menu, it was right up our street and did not disappoint.

Starters of crab or ceviche .

To follow crispy skinned duck Chinese vegetables and bau bun. Delightful.

There are so many places do stop and scoff when wandering around this city from Beachfront bars and cafes, to restaurants hidden away in the side streets. Whatever your mood or requirements it will be catered for.

For the true blight experience why not grab some fish and chips by the sea st Harry Ramsden’s!

Wheelchair Access – 2.5 out of 5

Bournemouth is one hilly city by the sea, with the majority of hotels set up one of these hills.

The city centre itself is pretty flat and the walkways are accessible.

Wheel through the smoothly pathed lower park to get down to the waterfront.

Once at the promenade, with the sound of the waves and the squawking of the gulls you are flat and can roll for miles.

Final Thoughts

Bournemouth is a lovely place to visit, have a moment by the sea and enjoy the seaside views.

It’s a great place to spend sometime with the whole family.

But in all honesty I think for me and my Wheels there are more accessible places to be visiting to enjoy a moment by the sea.

Much Love
