Meditation is one of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves spiritually, physically,mentally & emotionally.
The goal of meditation is not about emptying the mind; it’s about understanding, taking control of how your thoughts contribute to the way you feel.
People can find it hard to take that moment out to meditate, therefore I wanted to share some simple tips to help support your meditation practice.
My top tips
🧘♂️ Make sure you have a calm, quiet space to sit or lay in, a place you feel truly comfortable & at ease
🧘♂️ Move – I like to move before I meditate, a bit of tapping, Qigong or exercise can help release stagnant energies, support your system to flow & help calm the mind. Enabling you to get into meditation more easily & go far deeper.
🧘♂️ Don’t over think Meditation – if your mind keeps wondering that’s fine, allow the thoughts & feelings, so that you can work towards releasing them
🧘♂️ Breathe – at the start of the meditation take 3 long deep breaths & anytime your mind wonders bring your focus back to your breath. Inhale….exhale
🧘♀️ Focus – if you find it hard to quieten the mind & focus on the breath, have your eyes open & focus on a candle flame, a flower, it gives the mind something to do.
🧘♂️ Practice – don’t try to start off at an hour, start with a 2 minute meditation, build up from there & aim to make it a daily practice
🧘♂️ Smile – bring joy into your meditation, smile into it, allow the happiness & love to embrace you & enjoy
