From Fat to Fit in a WheelChair

When I initially fell ill I was put on so many drugs & pumped full of steroids, that over the next few years I ballooned to a whooping 18+stone. Yep I look like I ate myself, probably would have if I could have!!

I made a conscious decision a few years ago,to take myself off all my medication. As the side affects for me were worse than what the drugs were trying to mask.

Since then it’s been a hard push, but I’ve managed to drop over 8 stone & adopt healthy habits & daily practices, that support me on my weight loss & Health & Wellness Journey

Losing weight from a wheelchair is not the easiest of tasks, especially if like me, you like food & vino, but it’s all about moderation.

At home it’s all about home cooked, fresh & healthy food. when I go out I make considered choices, not overdoing it on the carbs, fats or sugars.

I exercise pretty much everyday, a 2k+ push, then a class with online fitness such as @wheelpower_official or Carly Kershaw Fitness & a yoga stretch.

For me it’s about consistency & dedication, sometimes it’s hard, but enjoying what I’m doing, how it makes me feel & seeing the results helps keep me pushing forward,. So I am as healthy as I can be, living the life I want from my wheels.

Much Love

  1. Loved this post! Your final paragraph which talks about consistency and dedication is so true. It has to be our choice at the end of the day – to do nothing or to be the healthiest and best version of ourself that we can be. It is for US to take ownership of our lives.

You’ve lost double the weight that I have! I salute you.
